Located in Mecklenburg County, Davidson is nestled on the banks of Lake Norman. This small town is the definition of Southern charm. With a population of just over 13,000, Davidson offers residents the very best of small-town living. Davidson was founded in 1837 with the establishment of the Presbyterian Davidson College and named after Brigadier General William Lee Davidson, a Revolutionary War veteran. Davidson College has become an integral part of this community and is known for its dedication to education and academics. 

A drive through the community will reveal that the majority of homes are single-family homes and townhouses. Roughly 40 percent of the constructions were completed after 2000, making the homes here in exceptional condition.

For a glass of wine after dinner, head over to Davidson Wine Co. This refined wine bar offers globally sourced and locally crafted wine.

Things to Do 

A quick drive to Charlotte allows you to catch a Carolina Panthers game, a Charlotte Hornets game, or simply enjoy the day exploring the Queen City. But you don’t have to go to Charlotte to find things to do! Davidson offers plenty for residents to partake in. For instance, Concerts on the Green is a summer music series that hosts an assortment of musical genres. 

Lake Davidson Nature Preserve allows you to escape from the noise and connect with nature. Here, you can hike, jog, kayak, or canoe on Lake Davidson. 

Christmas in Davidson is a celebrated three-day festival that features Santa, a tree lighting, live music, horse-drawn carriage rides, and much more. The Davidson Fall Art Festival, which takes place in October, features more than 25 local artists showcasing their talent.
